Quick update of what is happening here at the bakery. We are through our moving issues, but unfortunately we are still understaffed and we have several very large events in the next two weeks, so we made the decision we will not be opening the store front till the third week of December. We want to make sure we will have the product we need to fill the storefront to satisfy all your Monzù cravings! If you are looking for something special for after that time please call the store and leave a message or email us at email@example.com. I will also be opening the online store for preorders in the next few days.
Good Morning and happy Saturday! Many of you have asked about our move and when we would be closing and we officially have those dates…Please make note and plan accordingly…we will be closed starting Tuesday October 5th and tentatively reopening Wednesday October 27th.
If you have an order already in process during this time, we will reach out to you if you are to be picking up your order at our Broadway location or our new building. We will still have some items available for curbside pickup and orders can all be placed online. We do highly prefer that you place orders online, especially over the course of the next couple of weeks, since we’ll be moving equipment, loads of sprinkles, spatulas, bowls, mixers, and oh so much more. We just don’t want anything to get lost!
This move and this change has been in the works for a few months now and it is a little bittersweet to be leaving our space at 126 S Broadway. This place was home during some of the biggest times in my personal life like the birth of my daughter Olivia, then losing my partner Ben just a couple of years later. This building holds love, loss, laughter, challenges beyond what I could have imagined, success, and it has been full of life. We are all looking forward to what this new space will bring to our lives, our staff, and our community. During the next couple of weeks, the staff and I will be taking a much needed break. It is time to rest, rejuvenate, and come back stronger than ever. We will be sharing updates along the way and cannot wait to invite you back! Be sure to stop in before Tuesday! We will be open Saturday from 9am to 3pm and Sunday 9am to 12pm.
Today is an exciting day at Monzu Bakery. While this is something that has been in the works for sometime now, we wanted to wait to make the official announcement until we were ready and we had more of our ducks in a row.
Some of you may have had a suspicion about this, and I’m sorry to say we don’t have a more edible announcement, but we are MOVING! YES! We have called 126 S Broadway our home for the past few years and we have truly loved being in this neighborhood for the last 13 years. This moment is bittersweet in the sense that Broadway is where we have always called home. We adore our neighbors and friends we’ve made along the way here and will miss the busy buzz of Broadway, especially on a Wednesday night in the summer. This building is more than a building. Memories have been made here, our blood, sweat, and tears have been part of this building. Like many things in life, you have to know when it’s time to move on to the next thing.
Like a lot of you, the past year and a half or so has brought on a lot of changes, some harder than others most certainly, but we have also seen a lot of wonderful things happen. You, our wonderful customers, have continued to support us through so much as we have navigated this business over the last 15 years and we are so grateful. We are so thrilled about our new space and being able to continue to serve this community. The good news is we won’t be going far! Our new location is going to be at 620 Gray St in Green Bay. If that seems a little familiar, you are correct…it is where Hansen’s Deli was once located. We have been working so hard the last several weeks on cleaning and updating the space to make it our own. Our dreams are becoming a reality that we cannot wait to share it with you!
Here are some logistical items for you. We will be closing for approximately two-three weeks to complete the move, get new equipment installed, and make sure we are ready to open. We will keep you updated through Facebook and our website of those exact dates as we get closer with logistics of some items. If you have an order scheduled for the month of October, we are still going to do your order but we will contact you to confirm your pickup location. We will still have ordering and pick up and delivery available through our website shopmonzubakery.com of select items so you can still get your Monzù fix.
Most importantly, once we do open, we will be having a big grand opening celebration that we hope you will attend. We are so happy to share this moment with you and to continue to the next chapter of the Monzu Bakery story.

Happy Tuesday evening! Can you believe July is almost halfway done? The summer is truly flying by and we’ve been so busy in the bake shop as things have seemingly returned to normal for events. Like most of our neighbors and friends in this industry, we continue to run on a very small staff, but demand has increased greatly. To continue to offer the quality that meets our standards and yours, we are going to give our focus and attention to current orders. We will not be taking any large orders or custom orders for a weekend date until after Labor Day. ..We thank you for keeping us busy this summer and we want to continue to deliver the quality you deserve and what we know we can do. If you need a cake for a weekend date, know we have beautiful torte cakes available that can feed about 8-12 people that are available for same day pickup. We always have an assortment of cupcakes, mini cakes, macarons, and more available for you as well. If you have questions, please call us. We will communicate to you what we can or cannot do and what our availability is. Thank you so much again for all your support!
Update on cake order availability! We are booked for just about the entire month of June. The earliest date we can take a new custom order will be June 30th. Happy Friday! Stay cool
This quote is something that really resonated with me this morning. We’re in the business of making people smile…we’re part of your birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, baby showers, wedding showers, even just family dinners. It’s something that we’re truly grateful for at Monzù.
You keep us so busy and we can’t thank you enough for that, especially over the course of the last year….That being said, we have a lot of ways to get in touch with us, emails and Facebook messages being the most popular. In any given day we probably receive close to 100 messages a day. Granted, those aren’t all order requests, but it does take time to filter through everything. We ask for your patience as we respond to your messages. I promise you, we see the messages, and unfortunately when you email multiple times it can put you at the bottom of the list. We certainly don’t want that to happen. Right now with how busy we are, the turnaround time isn’t going to be 24 hours, or even 48 hours. Please give us at least four days to respond to your message. We respond in the order they’re received. If you don’t hear back from us in a week, then please do give us a call.
We’re human. We’re doing the best we can to respond to you and we’re so excited to work with you! We appreciate your patience and your business!
Fairly often we get requests for character cakes. It’s exactly what your kiddo’s party needs, we know, but unfortunately we’re not able to make these types cakes. But fear not! We’re happy to do something special for you with similar colors or themes, it’s just the trademarked characters (including fonts, logos, outlines of famous mice, or the like) we cannot do. The cake shown is a perfect example of how we can still make your ideas come to fruition. ..The first photo is what we put together at the bakery, the next photo shows how the cake can include your favorite characters. It can be as simple as adding some figurines…likely ones you already have at home! Cakes are definitely an art…one that we love and want to continue to do so without getting sued ..If you have questions on this, please let us know. We will be transparent with you on what we can or cannot do, and please give us at least two weeks notice for all custom cake orders.
We want to start out by saying that we appreciate you, our loyal customers and how much you’ve supported us during this time of global pandemic, staffing changes, mask requirements, and whatever else the world has thrown at us these last several months. Everyone has been forced into a new way of life that altered how we do things. With that being said, we are not going to be taking any custom orders until after Labor Day. This includes custom cakes, cupcakes, or cookies. Simply said, we have more orders than we have employees. We do so much more than just cakes. We will fulfill the current orders we have on our calendar and we will still continue to offer a regular selection of cupcakes, cookies, macarons, torte cakes, and our other pastry items.
We are also going to be taking this time to rest, recharge, catch up, and restructure how we do business. We understand that this may be frustrating, but we’re still here for you. Please be there for us so that we can continue to serve you in the future. We love what we do. We want to continue to part of your lives and special events. Thank you all so much for your consideration, continued flexibility, and understanding. We will keep you posted on when we will take custom orders again.

You can still get any of our torte cakes available in the front or online. Also in the next few weeks we will roll out with a couple of new styles of torte cakes that will be available for shorter notice so you have a nice variety. Any cake orders that we have already started through email we will continue to do, sorry for any inconvenience.
