We have completed your gingerbread house construction so you can move on to the most fun phase… decorating! This is where your house turns into a dream gingerbread house!
You may need to kneed the icing for a minute of two before starting if it has separated. Start by cutting off just a small amount of the tip at first, you can always cut it larger later. If your icing had separated you will want to squeeze the first bit of icing on a paper towel as the liquid can get stuck in the end.
To apply candy decorations, use a small amount of the icing as the “glue” to fasten the candy pieces to the gingerbread house. Hold the candy piece in place until it sets. I will use a bit a shimmying motion to make sure the icing is evenly distributed behind larger pieces and it is adhered to the house.
Take your time and let pieces dry for a few minutes before moving or stacking them. If you want to take a break and come back to your house later put the icing bags in a Ziploc bag with a damp piece of paper towel.
If you want to create another color or smaller bags of icing, you can use a small Ziploc bag and cut the tip off if you do not have another pastry bag.

Here are some houses our staff and customers have decorated. Some use only what is in the kit others use what ever they wanted.
